Snapraptors
Design Rules
These rules help keep the species unified and in line with their lore and biology. These are not meant to restrict your creativity when designing your character, and most of these rules can be broken if a mutation is used. See Mutations page for more info.
Any design that doesn't follow these rules won't be accepted.
Eyes & Inner Ears
The color of a Snapraptor's eyes & inner ears (if any) must match the color of it's bio-luminescent markings.
-
Eyes cannot be multiple colors without a mutation. (And they will also end up with multiple glow colors as well)
-
Eyes themselves do not glow without a mutation.
Bio-luminescence
Every Snapraptor has bio-luminescent markings.
-
These markings are 1 color and have solid edges.
-
The marking can cover anywhere from 5% to 75% of your Snap's body. It can appear anywhere and in any shape.
-
The marking does not need to be visible when not activated, however if this is the case your ref needs to show examples of both the lit and unlit design.
Pelvic Fins
Most fin placement is entirely up to you, except for the two pelvic fins on a Raptor's tail, just behind its legs.
-
These fins are a sign of sexual maturity and must be present in an adult unless a mutation is used.
-
Pelvic fins (as well as any other fins) can be any size or shape as long as they wouldn't impede movement.
Mutations
All of these rules can be broken with mutations! Head over to the Mutations page to see how.
